To the modern mind slavery ended in the 19th century, but this age-old institution has only changed form and become more insidious than ever before.
Thursday, October 3 at 7pm in 26-100 we will host a screening of “Nefarious: Merchant of Souls” (watch the trailer here: http://vimeo.com/26792244), “a hard-hitting documentary that exposes the disturbing trends in modern sex slavery.”
Friday and Saturday, Alex Niculaescu will speak on slavery; its causes and solutions from a Biblical perspective.

Alex has traveled to over 20 countries and was first made aware of the existence of modern slavery in 2009 while working in Kenya and South Sudan. Since that time, he has collaborated with many organizations like Not for Sale, Passion City Church, and Maasai Development Project in an effort to bring awareness to the issue and help end slavery. He has worked in investigation and recovery of sex trafficking and prostitution victims with Out of Darkness and has spoken about these subjects in various settings.
